Head Grower at Prickly Pear Market Garden

Spence focuses on regenerative practices to enhance soil health and support local food supply. His journey began with a passion for the land after spending time working and living on various land based projects across different countries and climates. This lead to an interest in Regenerative Agriculture and Permaculture, fostering biodiversity and sustainable techniques. Under his leadership, the garden has adopted methods to improve soil fertility, and reduce environmental impact.

Lucy Hackett

Assistant Grower at the Prickly Pear Market Garden

Lucy found her love for land based living and working 10 years ago when volunteering on a farm in India. She went on to gain years of hands on experience through many amazing Permaculture and small farm projects around the world. After a long time traveling and working, Lucy decided to base herself in Somerset and set up her own gardening and growing career. When she is not at the Prickly Pear Market Garden, you can find her helping people sort out their own gardens and creating spaces for them to grow.
